Taylor Swift Takes Third On MTV's "Woman Of The Year" List

Taylor Swift is getting new recognition from MTV. The country-pop crossover star is taking third place on MTV's Women of the Year list for 2010. MTV notes Swift didn't lose any momentum she picked up in 2009, starting the year winning a People's Choice Award and earning four GRAMMYs -- including Album of the Year for "Fearless." She toured during the first half of 2010, performing for sell-out crowds across the country. In September Swift participated once again in the MTV Video Music Awards, returning to the stage after her infamous incident with Kanye West at the 2009 event. In October Taylor had the biggest album release of the year with "Speak Now," which was the only CD in 2010 to sell more than one-million copies in its first week available. She also set several chart records with the singles from the project. This fall Swift has also made headlines for a rumored romance with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She's also been celebrating living on her own in her first condo, where she hosted her 21st birthday party earlier this month.

Lady Gaga is MTV's 2010 Woman of the Year, while Katy Perry is number two on the list. "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi follows Swift at four. Rapper Nicki Minaj rounds out MTV's top five.
