"Silent Night" still reigns as the most popular Christmas song. A new Harris Poll shows that the classic is once again taking the top spot on the list of holiday songs people most look forward to hearing. "Silent Night" was also voted number one in 2009 and 2007. In general, tastes haven't changed much in recent years. Remaining at number two is "White Christmas," while "Oh Holy Night" still ranks third and "Jingle Bells" continues its run in fourth place. "Little Drummer Boy" has the number five spot for a second consecutive year. It took sixth place in the 2007 survey.
The tunes people quickly tire of once the holiday season is over remain the same as well. "Jingle Bells" still tops the list of songs people wish, once Christmas has passed, they could "never hear again." "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" continues its run in the number two spot on the list, and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is once again number three. "White Christmas" yet again ranks fourth. But this time the classic made famous by Bing Crosby is tied with "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus." That song is apparently growing on people's nerves, as it failed to make the list in 2009 and was at number seven in 2007.
