Robert Duvall To Receive Career Achievement Award
Organizers of the Palm Springs International Film Festival have announced Academy Award-winning actor Robert Duvall as the recipient of its Career Achievement Award. Duvall will be honored at the festival in January. Event chairman Harold Matzner said, quote, "For nearly 50 years, Robert Duvall has transfixed cinematic audiences with his gritty, intuitive performances." Duvall recently starred in the 2009 film "Get Low." He is also known for his work in films such as "Tender Mercies," "The Godfather," "Apocalypse Now" and "The Great Santini." Past recipients of the Career Achievement Award include Cate Blanchett, Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren.
