LeAnn Rimes is engaged. The country star announced Monday via Twitter, quote, "For those who haven't read, Eddie and I got engaged over the holidays. That's the news. It's for real this tine and the first time EVER!" Just a couple of months ago rumors were circulating that her boyfriend, actor Eddie Cibrian, had proposed at Halloween, which she continually denied. But the singer isn't denying it now. In other tweets Rimes adds, quote, "Thank you for all your well wishes!! We are extremely excited and look forward to a beautiful future. It's been an incredible last few days, I was shocked!!! We are blessed, our families are so happy and our lives are filled with love." She also addresses going public with the information, tweeting, quote, "It was nice to have our little secret for us our families and friend's a few days! So excited to now share the wonderful news with our fans."
Rimes and Cibrian have been a couple for nearly two years. They met in early 2009 while working on the made-for-TV movie "Northern Lights." The stars -- who were each married to other people at the time -- became tabloid fodder amid allegations that they were having an affair. While they both initially denied their relationship, by mid-year they had both separated from their respective spouses and acknowledged that they were an item. Their divorces became final earlier this year.
