Country Stars Urge Support For The Red Cross This Christmas

A number of country stars are hoping to draw attention to the American Red Cross' holiday giving campaign. Reba McEntire is featured in a video message urging the public to support the organization, saying, quote, "This holiday season, I'm giving the gift of hope by supporting my local American Red Cross. Instead of sweaters and ties, I'm giving gifts from the Red Cross Holiday Giving Catalog." Reba has also been soliciting donations for the Red Cross via e-mail. Wynonna Judd is encouraging monetary donations as well, via Twitter. She notes in a tweet, quote, "$25 vaccinates 25 children around the world against measles. Wanna help? http://bit.ly/RCHoliday." Reba, Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, and Pat Green have also been making appeals via various social networking outlets.

The country stars are all current members of the American Red Cross' National Celebrity Cabinet. Other celebrities supporting the organization's holiday giving campaign include actors Josh Duhamel, Marlee Matlin, Jane Seymour, Jackie Chan, and Jimmy Smits; and TV personalities Dr. Phil McGraw, Nancy O'Dell and Leeza Gibbons.
