British Woman Is World's Oldest Facebook User

An elderly woman in the U.K. has become a social networking legend. The U.K.'s "Orange" news is reporting that 103-year-old Lillian Lowe is believed to be the oldest Facebook user in the world. Lowe -- who will be 104 in two months -- took over the record when 104-year-old Ivy Bean died in July. Lowe say she enjoys Facebook because it allows her to keep up with her seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She remarks, quote, "I can recommend it for any grandparents to keep in touch with their family without ringing all the time." Lowe admits that Facebook can be a "dreadful waste of time," but says logging on is still an "exciting" venture.
