Actor Wesley Snipes Ordered To Report To Prison Next Week
Federal marshals are telling actor Wesley Snipes to surrender himself next week at a federal prison in Pennsylvania to start serving a three-year prison sentence. The 48-year-old was told to be at the prison by noon on December 9th. His attorneys are asking that he be kept free on bail while his conviction is appealed. Snipes was found guilty of failing to file his taxes for three years in a row. Prosecutors recently filed paperwork asking that Snipes immediately start serving the sentence handed down to him for his 2008 conviction. They said that it's unlikely the nation's highest court will even hear the appeal. Snipes' conviction has already been reviewed by the federal judge in Florida. An appeals court in Atlanta upheld the jury's verdict and his prison sentence.
