Woman Released After Stealing Meter-Reader Scooter

A Montana woman was released from jail earlier this week after stealing a meter-reader scooter back in May. The "Missoulian" is reporting that Carey Sterling spent 182 days behind bars for stealing the scooter and driving it into a parked car. Carey -- who was charged with felony theft -- was released on probation Tuesday with the promise that she would pay for the 500-dollars in damage she caused. During her hearing, the Missoula resident told the judge, quote, "I have a paradigm shift in my motivation for being in society," adding, quote, "I'm going to be on my best behavior."
