Woman Arrested For Attempting To Sell Grandson

A Florida woman was arrested last week for trying to sell her 12-week-old grandson. The "Orlando Sentinel" is reporting that Patty Bigbee was apprehended by authorities last Friday as she met with a buyer in Daytona Beach. A man named Lawrence Works has also been arrested, although it is unclear what his connection is to Bigbee and her grandson. Police first learned of Bigbee's plan last month when she met with an unidentified "third party" about selling the child. She originally wanted 75-thousand-dollars for the baby, but was eventually talked down to 30-thousand-dollars. The grandson has since been turned over to the Department of Children and Families, as his mother is currently behind bars. Patty Bigbee is now facing charges of illegal sale or surrender of a child and communication fraud.
