Vending Machine Using Faces To Recommend Drinks

Your face can now determine the drink you receive from the vending machine. According to "The Sun," JR East Water Business Company has released a vending machine in Tokyo that uses facial recognition to recommend drinks to customers. The customer's age and gender play a role in the drink they receive, while the machine also takes into account the temperature and time of day. A spokeswoman for JR East Water remarks, quote, "We thought it would make it a lot more fun for the customers to have this kind of interaction with our machines, that it would improve the whole buying experience." JR East Water says they've seen their sales triple since debuting their new brand of vending machine, adding that they plan to release several more next year.
