Stolen Safe Leads To Marijuana Arrest
A Rhode Island resident made a mistake by trying to recover some of his stolen property last week. According to the "Providence Journal," Portsmouth police were called last Thursday after witnesses saw two 19-year-olds with a safe. While questioning the suspects at the station, police received a call from Sean Riley who claimed the safe was his. The 45-year-old drove down to the station to claim his property, at which time authorities discovered that Riley had five-thousand-dollars and two pounds of pot hidden in the lock box. Police went on to conduct a search of Riley's property, and wound up finding 14 marijuana plants growing in a shed. He is now facing a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
