Rascal Flatts Honored At Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital
The guys in Rascal Flatts are being recognized for their ongoing support of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The trio was on hand Friday for the opening of the "Rascal Flatts Surgery Center." Group member Jay DeMarcus says he and his band mates feel honored to be associated with the hospital. Rascal Flatts' association with the Children's Hospital dates back six years. DeMarcus explains they chose to support the facility because they wanted to give back to a Nashville-based organization, and they saw a need. In each of the past six years Rascal Flatts has made a special trip to the hospital, visiting patients and performing for them and their families. The group has also raised more than three-million-dollars for the hospital. Singer Gary LeVox adds that seeing what the group's support is enabling the medical facility to do means more to them than any award or nomination ever could. The "Rascal Flatts Surgery Center" includes the hospital's existing surgery facilities along with a new radiology suite, allowing a wider range of treatment and care for patients.
