NFL Hands Down Fines After Fight On Field

(Houston, TX) -- Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson was fined but not suspended by the National Football League on Monday. The "Houston Chronicle" reports Johnson was hit with a 25-thousand dollar penalty for his actions during Sunday's win over Tennessee. Johnson engaged in a fight with Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan midway through the fourth quarter of the Texans' 20-0 victory. Each player ripped off the other's helmet before Johnson threw multiple punches at Finnegan. Both players were ejected. Finnegan was also fined 25-thousand dollars and was not suspended for his role in the fracas, according to the paper. Houston travels to Philadelphia for a Thursday night tilt, while Tennessee plays Sunday at home against Jacksonville.
