Eddie Montgomery, one half of the duo Montgomery Gentry, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He released a statement through his publicist, saying, quote, "Yes, rumors have started. And the truth is I have recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I will be undergoing surgery to remove the cancerous turmor in December." But cancer won't be keeping Montgomery away from his career too long. He adds, quote, "I will be back in January ready to rock for all the fans!" Eddie also asks fans to remember him and his family in their prayers.
Montgomery is not the only country star who has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Randy Owen announced during his annual fan club party in June that he had undergone treatment for the disease earlier in the year.
