Miley Cyrus Turns 18 Today

Teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus turns 18 years old today. Cyrus first arrived in the spotlight in 2006 as the 14-year-old star of the hit Disney series "Hannah Montana" and has since gone on to a successful film and music career. Her latest album, "Can't Be Tamed" stirred some controversy this year with its associated music videos that depict a decidedly more grown up Miley in racy scenes. Cyrus also caught a little flak this year when it was revealed that her character in the upcoming movie "LOL: Laughing Out Loud" smokes marijuana, loses her virginity and experiments with a same-sex kiss. Cyrus' personal life took a bit of a hit recently when her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, announced their plans to divorce. It was rumored that an affair between Tish and Poison frontman Bret Michaels led to the split, although that allegation has since been denied by both camps.
