Martina McBride Inks New Contract, Starting New Album Next Month
Martina McBride is making a behind-the-scenes shift in her career. The singer has signed a new contract with Republic Nashville, and she'll begin working on her first album for her new label next month. Martina notes she's looking forward to the project, which will be her follow up to her March 2009 release "Shine." McBride adds that she's thrilled to be working with Scott Borchetta and Jimmy Harnen's Big Machine Label Group. She explains, quote, "The passion and excitement Scott, Jimmy and the entire Big Machine Label Group/Republic Nashville team have for my career and music is so inspiring to me. I have been blessed with an amazing career but in so many ways I really feel like the best is yet to come. I am as over-the-top excited about making music today as I was when I first moved to Nashville." The deal with Republic Nashville ends her tenure with RCA Nashville, which had been her label since she launched her recording career in 1991.
