Man Attempts To Buy Two Bentleys With Fake Check
A Texas man is facing life in prison after attempting to illegally purchase two luxury automobiles. The "Houston Chronicle" is reporting that Walter Allen Jr. was arrested last Friday for allegedly trying to buy two Bentleys from Houston's Post Oak Motor Cars. The 27-year-old reportedly showed up with a bonus check from the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta and a notary public to sign the papers. The dealership became suspicious, however, when they realized the Federal Reserve Bank doesn't deal in checks. Allen was instructed to show up Friday evening to claim his cars, but was arrested after signing the final papers. He was charged with theft of more than 200-thousand-dollars, which is a first-degree felony. Allen is being held on 30-thousand-dollars bail and faces a maximum sentence of life if convicted.
