Garth Brooks Sets Tennessee Ticket Sales Record With Charity Shows

Garth Brooks' upcoming concert to support flood relief in Middle Tennessee has turned into a nine-show event -- and they're all sold out. Tickets for the concerts went on sale Saturday, and they've all sold out. Folks purchased more than 140-thousand tickets for the upcoming shows, which has also set a new record for ticket sales in the state of Tennessee. The late Michael Jackson previously held the record, when 72-thousand tickets sold in a day for his concert at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. Brooks' accomplishment is also bringing in a hefty sum for the cause. The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee will be receiving over three-point-five-million-dollars from the ticket sales. Brooks' shows are set for December 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd, with two concerts slated for the 16th, 21st, and 22nd. Trisha Yearwood will also perform at the shows. The benefit concerts will mark Brooks' first performance in Nashville since 1998.
