The Band Perry Not Disappointed With CMA Loss

The Band Perry might have left the 44th annual CMA Awards empty handed, but the group is far from disappointed. Singer Kimberly Perry notes she and her bandmate-brothers "were rookies" heading into the event, and they were, quote, "just happy to be in the game!" The sibling trio was in the running for Vocal Group of the Year, but the nod went to Lady Antebellum. Perry adds, quote, "We're thrilled for Lady A, who's had an amazing year. It was great to be considered and great to share our music with everyone that night." The Band Perry performed their hit "If I Die Young" at the CMA Awards earlier this month, which resulted in a sharp sales increase for the single as well as a boost in sales of their self-titled debut album.

Meanwhile, another award opportunity is just around the corner for the group. The Band Perry is in the running in three categories at next month's American Country Awards. They're up for Artist of the Year: Duo or Group, Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist, and Music Video: Breakthrough Artist with the clip for "If I Die Young." The inaugural American Country Awards will be presented in a ceremony in Las Vegas and air live on the Fox network on December 6th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
