Travis Tritt is adding to his acting resume. WALB-TV says the singer was in Cairo, Georgia last Friday to film scenes in the upcoming movie "Fishers of Men." Director Joshua Mills says he's pleased to have the country singer in the cast, and notes the feelings are mutual, explaining, quote, "Travis is obviously very excited to play the role. We've been talking to him off and on over the past few days about it. And it's definitely created a buzz around here. He's got a huge fan base in country music as well as the south." Tritt also shot scenes for the film last week in Bainbridge, Georgia. The Bainbridge "Post-Searchlight" says the film is about twin brothers who take very different paths in life. Tritt has the role of Eddie Waters, who provides comfort and advice to one of the boys after he's wrongly convicted of a capital crime. Filming continues this week in Bainbridge and Decatur, Georgia.A post on the "Fishers Of Men" Facebook page notes that in addition to acting in the film, Tritt will also be providing a song for the movie's soundtrack. Tritt's previous film credits include the made-for-TV movie "Rio Diablo," as well as "The Cowboy Way," "Sgt. Bilko," and "Fire Down Below." Tritt's last album was 2007's "The Storm."
