State Budget Delay Causes Toilet Paper Shortage
(Sacramento, CA) -- California's record-long budget delay is causing a toilet paper shortage. There are reports of no toilet paper at state parks in rural areas and also at public beaches and campgrounds. A bank has canceled the state's credit card used to purchase TP and other goods. Sacramento has not been paying its bills due to the impasse over the budget, which should have been passed July 1st. State Parks officials say the credit card is also used to purchase wholesale fuel, vehicle repairs and other necessities. State Democrats and Republicans are said to be close to passing a spending plan and closing a 21-billion-dollar deficit.
