Speeding Motorist Says He Was Trying To Dry Car

An Illinois resident is blaming his excessive speed on a car wash. According to the "Naperville Sun," police stopped Lucas Wright last Wednesday for allegedly driving 100 miles-per-hour in a 50 mile-per-hour zone. The 24-year-old proceeded to tell Naperville police that he had just had his vehicle cleaned and was trying to dry it off. The excuse didn't work, as Wright was hit with a misdemeanor charge of speeding 40 miles-per-hour or more over the posted limit. He is currently free on bail and awaiting arraignment.
