Shania Twain can now add author to her list of credits as an award-winning entertainer, singer-songwriter and musician. The country star has signed a publishing deal with Atria Books to write her autobiography. She says she wanted to pen the book now, explaining, quote, "There have been moments in my life I was concerned by the reality that tomorrow would never come. Recently I experienced one of those moments to an intensity that brought on a sudden urgency to document my life before I ran out of time, before I had the opportunity to share an honest and complete account of my life, in my own words." Twain adds, quote, "There are times in your life that are meant for reflection, and this was one of them."In the still-to-be-titled autobiography, Twain covers her upbringing in rural Ontario, the untimely death of her mother and stepfather, her rise to fame in the entertainment industry, and her recent divorce. Shania notes, quote, "I began writing this book with a sincere respect for the past, present, and future as something never to be taken for granted." The autobiography is scheduled to be published in spring 2011. The book's release will coincide with the launch of Twain's new docu-series with The Oprah Winfrey Network.
