Rhode Island Funeral Home Opening Pub
A funeral home in Rhode Island will be helping mourners drown their sorrows. According to WPRI.com, Providence's Monahan Funeral Home has received a liquor license and is opening its own bar. Mark Russell operates the home, and says he plans to convert a garage attached to the building into an Irish pub called McBride's. Russell explains, quote, "Inside there will probably be seating for 55 to 60 people. There will be a full kitchen. It will serve pub grub." Business owners in the area aren't happy about the addition of a new bar, so Russell has agreed to close McBride's at 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends. Russell is hoping to have McBride's up and running by March 1st.
