Mail Service Suspended to Neighborhood Due to Dog

(Manchester, NH) -- Several dozen New Hampshire homes didn't receive mail service this past Tuesday because of a dog. The postal carrier for Bartlett Street in Manchester says he was cornered by an aggressive dog over the weekend, and refused to deliver the mail to the area Tuesday. Other residents say they understand, but hoped delivery can resume quickly. The postmaster says the pit bull that cornered the letter carrier is one of two dogs living at one address, but the problem is the dogs are roaming about the neighborhood. The postmaster is trying to coordinate with Manchester Animal Control to escort the mail carrier to that home and resolve the problem, but until then, residents were forced to pick up their mail at the post office.
