Katy Perry Will Appear On "The Simpsons"

She didn't make the cut for "Sesame Street," but singer Katy Perry already has a new TV job on "The Simpsons." EOnline.com reports the singer will be playing herself on an upcoming episode of the animated series in a live-action segment that features "The Simpsons" characters in puppet form. Show producer Al Jean says, quote, "In the wake of Elmo's terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry." "Sesame Street" recently cut Perry's appearance with muppet Elmo for the show's season premiere episode after parents complained her top revealed too much cleavage. The pop star will sing "The 39 Days of Christmas" during the December 5th episode of "The Simpsons" on Fox.
