Judge Grants Don Johnson Additional Interest For "Nash Bridges"

Don Johnson's interest in "Nash Bridges" is paying off in millions. On Wednesday, a judge awarded the actor 28-million-dollars as added interest to the 23-million originally awarded to him in an earlier legal judgment for his stake in the TV series. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Stern said Johnson was entitled to ten percent in annual interest dating back to 1998 when the actor signed his contract with "Nash Bridges" producer Rysher Entertainment LLC. In July, a jury awarded Johnson 23-point-two-million-dollars in profits related to the show despite Rysher's claims that the series continues to run a deficit in syndication. Johnson had originally sought as much as 105-Million-dollars from Rysher as a 50-percent owner of the copyright to the former CBS police drama, but the jury deducted costs for production, distribution and other expenses.

"Nash Bridges" ran on CBS from six seasons, ending in 2001. Following the judge's ruling on Wednesday, Johnson said he was "delighted" by the outcome, calling it "appropriate" and a long time coming.
