James Franco Sells "Saturday Night Live" Documentary
A Beastie Boy has acquired a documentary about "Saturday Night Live" from James Franco. Deadline.com reports that Adam Yauch, a founding member of The Beastie Boys and the owner of the film company Ollioscope, has purchased "Saturday Night" from the actor. Franco directed the feature about the high-pressure, fast-paced live comedy show during one week. Although Franco's been a host on "SNL," it was an episode starring John Malkovich that served as the subject of his feature. "Saturday Night" begins with a Tuesday morning pitch meeting and follows the writers and cast through middle-of-the-night brainstorming sessions. "Saturday Night" is expected to premiere in 2011.
