Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin Appears On "Dancing"

ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" welcomed a political newsmaker this week. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin visited the "Dancing" studio on Monday to support her daughter, Bristol. Palin joked with host Tom Bergeron that she wouldn't say anything bad about the show's judges before they scored her 19-year-old daughter's dance. The 46-year-old said, quote, "Okay, now, it's like before a hockey game. You're not going to chew out the refs right before your team is up there on the ice, so they're great."

Later in the broadcast, Palin appeared in a taped segment that featured Bristol and her professional dance partner, Mark Ballas, during a visit to Alaska. The former vice presidential candidate drew laughter during the segment when she tried to describe Bristol's "shimmy" move in week one.

Bristol and Mark then went on to dance a Quickstep to "You Can't Hurry Love," the classic song made famous by Diana Ross and the Supremes. The judges liked the teen competitor's performance, awarding her 22 out of 30 points. Judge Bruno Tonioli told Bristol that she has a "fresh, non-showbiz quality," but encouraged her to become more of an actress in future weeks. Bristol Palin and her fellow competitors will find out their fates on Tuesday night's "Dancing With Stars," which will air on ABC at 9:00 p.m Eastern.
