Darius Rucker, Tim McGraw In NASCAR Time Capsule

Darius Rucker and Tim McGraw are becoming a bigger part of NASCAR history. "The Daytona Beach News-Journal" says Rucker's CD "Learn To Live" and McGraw's album "Southern Voice" were included in a NASCAR Time Capsule that was recently buried at the start-finish line at Daytona International Speedway. Rucker's debut disc was added in honor of his pre-race concert at the 2010 Coke Zero 400 back in July, while McGraw's most recent release reflects his pre-race performance before this year's Daytona 500 in February. Photos of 2010 race cars, snapshots from Daytona International Speedway's social media websites, and a piece of the pothole that interfered with the 2010 Daytona 500 are among the other items residing in the silver canister, along with a cell phone, a menu from McDonalds, and other racing and pop culture artifacts from the present day. Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood the Third says the capsule is strong enough to remain underground for up to 100 years. He notes that no date has been set for exhuming the container, but adds that it will stay buried for at least two decades.
