New Country Music Awards Show Coming To Fox In December
Country music is poised to get another TV platform. "The Hollywood Reporter" says Fox is making plans for the "American Country Awards," which will make its debut at the end of the year. The show is slated to take place in Las Vegas, and air live on December 6th. The proposed ceremony adds a fifth primetime country music event to the calendar. There are three other awards shows on three other networks -- CBS's Academy of Country Music, CMT's CMT Music Awards, and ABC's Country Music Association Awards in the fall. In addition, since 2005 ABC has annually aired "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock," which features highlights from the June CMA Music Festival in Nashville. Tim McGraw is hosting this year's special, which will air on ABC September 1st.
