Matthew Perry Returns To TV As A "Selfish Jerk"

"Friends" star Matthew Perry is returning to network TV as a "selfish jerk." That's how the 40-year-old actor describes his role on the upcoming ABC comedy "Mr. Sunshine." On the show Perry portrays Ben Donovan, the manager of a sports venue called The Sunshine Center. The actor comments, quote, "I am very in touch with that kind of selfish guy who is trying to have a better life and how confused a selfish person would get if he were told that the way to have a better life is to be nicer to people.'' It's Perry's second trip back to primetime TV following the end of "Friends'" run. He also starred in the short-lived "Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip." "Mr. Sunshine" is slated to debut on ABC in 2011.
