Blind Man Sues After Running Into Tree
A Utah man is taking a fast food restaurant to court over an embarrassing run-in with Mother Nature. The "Salt Lake Tribune" is reporting that Nathan Reynolds is suing the owners of a Salt Lake City Wienerschnitzel for failing to maintain a tree near their business. Reynolds, who is blind, was walking towards the restaurant on June 9th, 2009 when the tree hit him in the face and knocked him to the ground. According to the lawsuit, the tree was, quote, "allowed to grow in such a way that it was impossible for Mr. Reynolds to detect its presence by use of his cane." The 36-year-old is suing for unspecified reimbursement for past and future medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering resulting from the alleged negligence in the maintenance of the tree.
