Oregon Man Sets Asteroids Record
An Oregon man is the new king of the popular arcade game Asteroids. "The Sun" is reporting that John McCallister has set the new high score for the game with 41-million-338-thousand-740 points. The 41-year-old broke the previous record of 41-million-336-thousand-440 points, which was set by 15-year-old Scott Sarfan 28 years ago. McCallister's record was broadcast live over the internet from his friend's basement in Portland. His score still has to be verified before it can be put into the record books. McCallister discussed his accomplishment saying, quote, "The Asteroids high score record is considered a holy grail. It's a title that a lot of people would want, and I wanted it."
