Luke Bryan, Gloriana, Joey + Rory Vying for ACM's Top New Artist Award

Voting begins today for the Academy of Country Music's Top New Artist of the Year. Luke Bryan, Gloriana, and Joey + Rory are the nominees in the category. They each earned their bid by capturing individual "Top New" titles. Bryan got the nod as Top New Solo Vocalist of the Year, while Gloriana was crowned Top New Vocal Group of the Year and Joey + Rory were named the Top New Vocal Duo of the Year. Bryan, Gloriana, and Joey + Rory will be formally recognized as the "Top New" winners on the GAC TV special "ACM Top New Artists." They receive their trophies on the show, which Trace Adkins hosts. The presentations were taped during the Grand Ole Opry's Tuesday Night Opry show earlier this week. GAC's "ACM Top New Artists" will have its premiere tonight, with encore broadcasts scheduled to air on Friday and Saturday. The public will now decide who'll get the Top New Artist trophy by casting ballots at http://www.voteacm.com/. The winner will be announced during the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will take place in Las Vegas and air on CBS on April 18th.
