Florida Golfer Strikes Eagle

Eagles on the golf course are usually a good thing, but one Florida golfer learned earlier this week that that isn't always the case. TCPalm.com is reporting that an eagle was struck by a ball at the Sandridge Golf Course on Tuesday. The bird reportedly swooped out of a tree and was struck by the shot of an unidentified golfer. Indian River Animal Control Director Jason Ogilve says the man, quote, "felt bad and didn't want to be identified." The animal is being treated at the Treasure Coast Wildlife Hospital in Fort Pierce. The eagle is reportedly alert, but has one wing that is drooping. Jason Ogilve says the entire incident is a fluke stating, quote, "It was pretty impressive," and adding, quote, "What are the odds of that?"
