"Clash of the Titans" Blows Away The Competition In Its Opening Weekend

"Clash of the Titans" has claimed the top spot at the box office. The 3-D action flick starring Sam Worthington pulled in 61-point-four-million-dollars over its opening weekend. Warner Brothers says the film set a record during its holiday release, shattering the previous Easter record of 40-point-two-million dollars set by "Scary Movie 4" in 2006. Filmmaker Tyler Perry saw his second-highest opening with "Why Did I Get Married Too?" The film -- a sequel to 2007's "Why Did I Get Married?" -- earned 30-point-two-million-dollars. Another 3-D movie, DreamWorks' "How To Train Your Dragon," came in at number three with 29-point-two-million-dollars. The animated family film has accumulated 92-point-three-million-dollars in its first ten days of release.

At number four is "The Last Song" with 16-point-two-million-dollars. The Miley Cyrus drama, which opened last Wednesday, has box office total of 25-point-six-million dollars. Rounding out the top five is Tim Burton's "Alice In Wonderland," which fell to number five this week from number two last week with eight-point-three-million-dollars in receipts. The 3-D fantasy has a domestic box office total of 309-point-eight-million dollars.
