Carrie Underwood Signs On For "Idol Gives Back"
Carrie Underwood is once again taking part in "American Idol's" charity show. "US" magazine says the country star -- and season four "Idol" winner -- is on board for the 2010 edition of "Idol Gives Back." Other artists slated to appear during the fundraising special include the Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, and Annie Lennox. They'll be encouraging donations which will support a variety of organizations including Children's Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children's U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation. "Idol Gives Back" is scheduled to air on Fox on April 21st. Underwood isn't new to "Idol Gives Back." For the inaugural event in 2007 Carrie traveled to Angola to highlight the need for charitable support for the African nation. She also performed at the 2008 event, and last year she returned to Africa to provide an update on how donations were being used.
