102-Year-Old Woman Returns To School

An elderly Chinese woman isn't letting her age stand in the way of her education. According to the "Qilu Evening Post," 102-year-old Ma Xiuxian has returned to elementary school to complete her education. Xiuxian began working in a cotton mill at the age of 13, and by 18 she was married and spending her time as a housewife. Her youngest son accompanied her to her first day at Weishan Road Elementary School, where she used hearing aids and a magnifying glass to complete her work. Following her first lesson, Xiuxian addressed the class saying, quote, "Thank you teacher! Thank you my classmates! I'll study hard and do my contribution to the country."
