Vegetables Lead To Senior Center Evacuation
A package full of delicious vegetables led to the evacuation of a California senior center last week. According to the "Appeal-Democrat," residents of the Town Center Senior Manor in Yuba City were evacuated Thursday due to a package that had the word "Bomb!" written on it. Town Center resident Tina Romero had spoken with her friend Terri Talbot earlier in the week. During their conversation, Talbot said she had, quote, "some bomb stuff to give you" to make cabbage stew. Unfortunately, Romero forgot about Talbot's description, and when she picked up a box with the word "Bomb!" on it she decided to call 911. An apologetic Talbot remarked after the incident, quote, "I didn't know it would come out like this. Not at all. I am so sorry."
