Report: Sources Say CBS Offered Tony Hosting Gig To Conan
Hollywood insiders are saying that CBS went after Conan O'Brien to host the Tony Awards, scheduled to air this year on June 13th. Deadline.com cites sources who assert that the eye network offered O'Brien the gig, but the former "Tonight Show" host said "no." O'Brien reportedly cited restrictions in his severance agreement from NBC that prevent him from performing on TV before September 1st, 2010. Before then, the 46-year-old is finding creative ways to stay busy. Early next month, O'Brien will launch his comedy tour. "The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour" will debut in Eugene, Oregon on April 12th.
