Florida Man Charged With Trying To Break Into Jail

A Florida man now faces 15 years in prison for trespassing on jail property for allegedly trying to break into the Brevard County Jail last fall. Twenty-five-year-old Sylvester Jiles was released in August 2009 on probation from the Brevard County Jail after accepting a plea deal on a 2007 manslaughter charge. Prosecutors decided they could not bring murder charges because of a lack of witnesses. Three days later Jiles pleaded to be put back in jail, claiming his life was at risk. When denied, officials say Jiles sliced himself severely on 12-foot fence's razor wire while trying to get back into the jail.
