APARTMENT COMPLEX RELATIONSHIPS

If you're single and living in an apartment complex, romance could literally be right next door. Nearly a third of the 900 renters taking part in a recent Apartments.com poll say they've been in a relationship with a roommate or neighbor in their apartment community. For 21-percent the relationship lasted for several months to a year, and three-percent of these apartment complex romances have resulted in an engagement or marriage. The majority of renter romances begin around the pool or in the laundry room. But dating renters say they've also met each other at social functions for the complex or at meetings regarding the apartment community, while one relationship began over a misdelivered package. Two out of five people polled add that they would be "open to the idea" of a relationship with their neighbor or roommate.
