Voting begins today for the Academy of Country Music's "Top New" categories in conjunction with the 45th annual ACM Awards. The Academy is allowing the public to pick their favorite rising stars and choose the winners of the Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Duo, and Top New Vocal Group awards. Those vying for Solo Vocalist include Chris Young, Luke Bryan, and Jamey Johnson. Bomshel, Joey + Rory and Steel Magnolia are up for Vocal Duo, and Gloriana, the Eli Young Band, and The Lost Trailers are in the running for Vocal Group. Online ballots can be placed at VoteACM.com. Voting will be open through March 12th.The winners in the three "Top New" categories will be announced later in March. They will become the nominees for Top New Artist, and a new round of voting for this category will begin April 1st. The Top New Artist winner will be revealed during the 45th annual ACM Awards ceremony, which will take place in Las Vegas and air on CBS on April 18th.
