Large Icicle Causes Evacuation Of Apartment Complex

A large icicle sent people living in a three-story apartment complex in Iowa out of their building. Cedar Rapids Fire Department spokesman Greg Buelow says the large block of ice dropped onto a gas meter outside of the apartment complex earlier this week and caused a natural gas leak. Firefighters evacuated residents near the gas meter and got a utility crew to stop the leak. Buelow says no one was hurt, but the incident shows just how dangerous it can be to walk underneath overhangs where icicles can fall.
