Garth Brooks A "GRAMMYs On The Hill" Honoree

Garth Brooks will be in Washington, D.C. this spring to talk music with politicians. The country superstar will participate in Grammys on the Hill, a music advocacy and awards event. Brooks is joining U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois and U.S. Representative Darrell Issa of California as this year's honorees. They'll be recognized in a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol for their efforts to improve the working environment for musicians and others in the music industry. Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow says the event, quote, "gives us the opportunity to thank our political and musical leaders for their work to advance the rights of music makers." He also praises Brooks, calling him "one of the most popular and philanthropic artists" and "an inspiration to musicians and fans alike." GRAMMYs on the Hill is set for April 14th and 15th.
