Sandra Bullock 2009's Top Box Office Draw

Sandra Bullock -- the actress sometimes referred to as "America's Sweetheart" -- is emerging as 2009's top star at the box office according to movie theater owners. The 45-year-old took the top spot last year after a two-year absence from appearing on the big screen. Quigley Publishing Company's annual list released last Thursday was based on a poll of hundreds of theater executives. The Virginia-born star beat out other big names like George Clooney and Denzel Washington. In 2009, Bullock's slate of film's included comic fare with "The Proposal" and "All About Steve." In November, Bullock appeared on the big screen as Leigh Anne Thouy in the inspirational drama "The Blind Side," which is based on the true story of the Baltimore Ravens rookie Michael Oher.
