"The Proposal," "Glee," Depp Win Big At The People's Choice Awards

The people have spoken, and they like "The Proposal," Johnny Depp, and "Glee." They're just a few of the winners from "The People's Choice Awards 2010," which aired on CBS Wednesday with host Queen Latifah presiding over the night. In the broadcast's first minutes, Ellen DeGeneres accepted the Favorite Talk Show award. The comedienne then gave "The Proposal" the award for Favorite Comedy Movie. "The Proposal" star Sandra Bullock also got the nod for Favorite Movie Actress, while Johnny Depp took Favorite Movie Actor. Depp showed up in person to accept his award, with presenter Sacha Baron Cohen noting that the actor's scored more votes than any other male star in ten years. With the accomplishment, Cohen also proclaimed Depp the People's Choice Actor of the Decade.

Country acts won the night's biggest music awards. Taylor Swift and Keith Urban took the honors for Favorite Female and Male Artist. Small screen awards went to "House" for Favorite TV Drama and its star Hugh Laurie earned Favorite TV Drama Actor. FOX's breakout hit "Glee" took Favorite New TV Comedy and celebrated by delivering pizzas to the audience. CBS' "Big Bang Theory" is America's Favorite TV Comedy and Steve Carell nabbed Favorite TV Comedy Actor for his portrayal of the hapless Michael Scott on "The Office." Miley Cyrus and Taylor Lautner are the people's favorite breakout movie stars. In a nod to the times, Ashton Kutcher won the inaugural Favorite Web Celeb award for his campaign to get one-million followers on Twitter.
