MOST AMERICANS KEEP HEALTH-RELATED RESOLUTIONS BUT TRY AVOIDING EXERCISE

So how are those New Year's resolutions going? According to an American Heart Association survey, of those who've resolved to improve their health 73-percent are likely to follow through. Nearly 60-percent note that making changes to their diet and becoming more active are important to them. However, 54-percent admit they come up with excuses to not exercise. Leading the list is "I don't have the time," a claim used by 39-percent, while an additional eleven-percent use "work obligations" and seven-percent cite "family or social commitments" to remain inactive. A quarter of those polled say they don't exercise because they're ill, injured, or have some physical limitations, and 15-percent find exercise boring.
