Jimmy Wayne Spends The Night In Memphis Shelter

As Jimmy Wayne continues his "Meet Me Halfway" walk from Nashville to Phoenix, the singer notes via Twitter that he's now in the Memphis, Tennessee area. In a tweet posted Tuesday Wayne noted, quote, "2nite will B interestN. I'm not sleepN n my tent;RV;hotel! I'm sleepN n a homeless shelter!" He also mentions meeting some friendly and supportive people, and getting some unpleasant advice, tweeting, quote, "been warnD about the neighborhood I'm about 2 walk thru. Many said "they ain't white". I hate racism! the guy that stabbed my mom was white." It's Wayne's turbulent childhood -- which included time living on the streets -- that motivated him to launch "Meet Me Halfway." With his campaign Wayne is trying to bring attention to the issue of homelessness, and raise money for shelters and organizations that help those who have no home.
